Vacancy: Sub-Contract Electrician

Due to our continued expansion, Oftech Wind Ltd require a Qualified Sub-Contract Electrician for onshore work

The role:

Working on a call off basis, an experienced Electrician is required to support Oftech during busy periods. Previous experience of testing, inspection and certification is required as is experience of 3 phase work.

Vacancy: Electrician/Offshore Maintenance Technician

Due to our continued expansion, Oftech Wind Ltd require a Qualified Electrician/Offshore Maintenance Technician.

Based in Rhyl, and predominantly servicing the offshore wind turbine foundations across the North Wales coast, Oftech Wind Ltd provides safety inspections, electrical/mechanical and general maintenance and confined space rescue services.

The role:

Generally working 40hrs per week, however, due to the nature of the work (weather dependant) flexibility on working hours is required for the servicing and maintenance of offshore wind turbine foundations. Working in a small team, the successful applicant will undertake various safety inspections and maintenance works both offshore and onshore, as well as providing confined space rescue services.

You will be a qualified electrician, competent to work with various power, and hand, tools and have a head for heights. The role is physically demanding and so a good level of fitness is required, as will be an offshore certified medical.

Wind Turbine Foundation Maintenance Technician

A vacancy has arisen for a Wind Turbine Foundation Maintenance Technician predominantly working off the North Wales Coast (travel to other locations may be required).

Role:

Autonomously carrying out complex repairs and routine maintenance of offshore wind turbines. Carry out safety inspections, recording and reporting defects. Repair and maintenance of equipment onshore. Maintenance of shore side support buildings and equipment. General repairs and ground maintenance to electrical sub-stations. Timely spares and stock ordering.

Due to the nature of this role, early start and late finishes are synonymous with this type of work. Reliability and flexibility are prerequisites to successful team members.

Essential skills:

  • GWO certificates.
  • Solid technical (evidential) experience in electrical/mechanical engineering.
  • Ability to work to strict protocols/procedures.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Solid problem solving skills.
  • Full driving licence.
  • Good IT skills.
  • ‘Can do’ attitude.
  • Reliable.
  • Flexible.
  • Hard working.
  • Adaptable.

Desirable skills:

  • Report writing.
